Frequently asked questions

Do I get to see the design before it prints?

Yes. We email you a free digital proof before anything goes to print, so you can check the photo, the framing and the feel of the portrait. Nothing prints until you're happy, and you can ask for tweaks. It takes the guesswork out of ordering a gift you can't unwrap in advance.

Can I use a photo from my phone?

A phone photo works well, as long as the faces are reasonably sharp and the image isn't too dark or blurry. Avoid heavy digital zoom. If the photo won't work well for the watercolour style, we'll flag it at the proof stage before anything prints, so there's no risk in sending what you have.

Will the portrait look hand-painted?

It's an artist-reimagined digital watercolour: we digitally paint your photo in a soft watercolour style and print it on premium paper. It has the warmth and feel of a watercolour portrait, made to be kept and hung, without the price or wait of a commissioned original.

How long does delivery take?

Most orders are printed and dispatched within a few days of approving your proof, then delivered worldwide. If you're ordering ahead of a birthday or Mother's Day, leave a little time for the proof-and-approve step, so the portrait arrives when you need it.

What if I don't like the proof?

Then we change it. The proof stage is there so you can ask for tweaks to the colours, the background or the likeness, and we'll keep revising until you're happy. Nothing goes to print until you approve it.

Can I return it if I change my mind?

Because every print is made to order from your photo, we can't accept returns for a change of mind. You approve a free digital proof before we print anything, so there are no surprises. And if a print arrives damaged or not as approved, we'll put it right straight away.
