Frequently asked questions

Do I get to see the design before it prints?

Yes. We email you a free digital proof once the portrait is ready, so you can check the photo, the composition and the feel before we print a single page. Nothing goes to print until you're happy, and you can ask for adjustments. It's there so a birthday gift that has to be right, actually is.

Can I use a photo from my phone?

A phone photo works well as long as the faces are reasonably sharp and the image isn't too dark or heavily cropped. We'll flag any concerns at the proof stage before anything prints, so there's no risk of a surprise when it arrives.

How long does delivery take?

Most orders are printed and dispatched within a few days of you approving your digital proof, then delivered worldwide. Order with a little lead time so the proof-and-approve step isn't rushed, especially for a milestone birthday where the date matters.

Framed or unframed, what are the options?

Prints come in three sizes: 21 × 29.7 cm, 30 × 40 cm and 45 × 60 cm. You can add a frame in black, white or natural wood for £30. Framed prints arrive ready to hang; print-only gives them the option to frame their own way.

What if I don't like the proof?

Then we change it. The proof stage is there so you can ask for tweaks to the colours, the background or the likeness, and we'll keep revising until you're happy. Nothing goes to print until you approve it.

Can I return it if I change my mind?

Because every print is made to order from your photo, we can't accept returns for a change of mind. You approve a free digital proof before we print anything, so there are no surprises. And if a print arrives damaged or not as approved, we'll put it right straight away.
