Why we sell our prints unframed

Most of our prints ship unframed, so you can choose a frame you love rather than pay for one you'd swap out.

Pick your own look. Match the frame to your room, oak, black or white wood, or a mounted gallery style.
Don't pay twice. A frame you didn't choose often gets replaced. Unframed keeps the cost on the artwork.
Ships flat and safe. A flat-packed print travels far better than glass.

Choosing a frame that fits

Our prints come in three standard sizes, so an off-the-shelf frame is easy to find:

21 × 29.7 cm (A4) — fits any standard A4 frame.
30 × 40 cm — a common ready-made frame size.
45 × 60 cm — a popular large size, also widely sold ready-made.

Two easy ways to frame it:

Frame to size. Buy a frame in the exact size above, no mount needed.
Use a mount (mat). Choose a slightly larger frame with a mount cut to your print size, for a gallery look with a border.

Tip: check the frame's artwork opening (not its outer size), and look for a real glass or acrylic front.

What photo works best for a Mummy & Me print?

Any photo where you can clearly see both faces works well, it doesn't need to be a professional shot. A candid on your phone is often the most meaningful. Our artists work from the image you upload, so the clearer the photo, the more detail comes through in the watercolour portrait.

Can I see the artwork before it's printed?

Yes, we send a free digital proof before anything goes to print. You can request changes or approve it when you're ready. Nothing prints until you're happy with how it looks.

Is this available framed?

Yes. You can add a wood frame in Black, White or Natural for an additional £30. It arrives framed and ready to hang, so there's nothing extra to sort on the day.

How long does delivery take?

Most orders are delivered within a few days of proof approval. If you're ordering for a specific date, Mother's Day, a birthday, place your order with enough time to review and approve the proof first.

What if I don't like the proof?

Then we change it. The proof stage is there so you can ask for tweaks to the colours, the background or the likeness, and we'll keep revising until you're happy. Nothing goes to print until you approve it.

Can I return it if I change my mind?

Because every print is made to order from your photo, we can't accept returns for a change of mind. You approve a free digital proof before we print anything, so there are no surprises. And if a print arrives damaged or not as approved, we'll put it right straight away.
