- Sharp and in focus. A good phone photo is plenty.
Not sure your photo will work? Send it anyway. We'll flag anything at the free proof stage, before we print.

Framing & sizing
Why we sell our prints unframed
Most of our prints ship unframed, so you can choose a frame you love rather than pay for one you'd swap out.
- Pick your own look. Match the frame to your room, oak, black or white wood, or a mounted gallery style.
- Don't pay twice. A frame you didn't choose often gets replaced. Unframed keeps the cost on the artwork.
- Ships flat and safe. A flat-packed print travels far better than glass.
Prefer it ready to hang? Add a fitted black, white or natural wood frame at the size step above.
Choosing a frame that fits
Our prints come in three standard sizes, so an off-the-shelf frame is easy to find:
- 21 × 29.7 cm (A4) — fits any standard A4 frame.
- 30 × 40 cm — a common ready-made frame size.
- 45 × 60 cm — a popular large size, also widely sold ready-made.
Two easy ways to frame it:
- Frame to size. Buy a frame in the exact size above, no mount needed.
- Use a mount (mat). Choose a slightly larger frame with a mount cut to your print size, for a gallery look with a border.
Tip: check the frame's artwork opening (not its outer size), and look for a real glass or acrylic front.
How it'll look on your wall
Here's how the three sizes compare against a standard three-seat sofa (about 2 m wide) and an adult, for scale:
Above a sofa or sideboard, most people choose 30 × 40 or 45 × 60 cm. For a shelf or a gallery wall of several prints, A4 works well.
About this print
Kids grow up faster than any parent is ready for. A watercolour portrait of yours, two, three or more of them together, is the kind of thing you'll wish you'd done sooner. This is the print for the wall, not the camera roll.
We take your favourite photo and reimagine it as a soft, painterly digital watercolour portrait, the kind that turns an everyday moment into something worth framing. A Sunday morning. A garden squint. A rare occasion when they're all looking the same way. It suits any stage: babies through to teenagers, one sibling pair or a whole rowdy lot of them.
Before anything prints, we send you a free digital proof so you can see exactly how it looks and ask for any changes. Nothing prints until you're happy with it. Available in three sizes, 21×29.7cm, 30×40cm and 45×60cm, on premium paper. Add a wood frame in Black, White or Natural for £30, and it arrives ready to hang. Delivered in days.
Frequently asked questions
How many children can be included in one portrait?
There's no hard limit. Two, three, four or more, we work from a single photo of them together. The clearer the photo, the more detail we can bring out in the watercolour, so a well-lit shot where all the kids are visible works best.
What photo works best for a group of children?
A clear, reasonably well-lit photo where all the children's faces are visible gives us the most to work with. Candid shots work beautifully, it doesn't need to be a posed portrait. Avoid heavy shadows across faces or significant motion blur if you can, but most everyday photos come out well.
When will I see the watercolour before it prints?
We send a free digital proof once your artist-reimagined watercolour is ready. You can review it, ask for changes, and only approve it when you're completely happy. Nothing prints until you say so.
Can I add a wood frame?
Yes, wood frames are available in Black, White or Natural for an additional £30. They're a clean, simple finish that makes the print arrive ready to hang, with no trip to a framer needed.
What if I don't like the proof?
Then we change it. The proof stage is there so you can ask for tweaks to the colours, the background or the likeness, and we'll keep revising until you're happy. Nothing goes to print until you approve it.
Can I return it if I change my mind?
Because every print is made to order from your photo, we can't accept returns for a change of mind. You approve a free digital proof before we print anything, so there are no surprises. And if a print arrives damaged or not as approved, we'll put it right straight away.
