Framing & sizing
Why we sell our prints unframed
Most of our prints ship unframed, so you can choose a frame you love rather than pay for one you'd swap out.
- Pick your own look. Match the frame to your room, oak, black or white wood, or a mounted gallery style.
- Don't pay twice. A frame you didn't choose often gets replaced. Unframed keeps the cost on the artwork.
- Ships flat and safe. A flat-packed print travels far better than glass.

Choosing a frame that fits
Our prints come in three standard sizes, so an off-the-shelf frame is easy to find:
- 21 × 29.7 cm (A4) — fits any standard A4 frame.
- 30 × 40 cm — a common ready-made frame size.
- 45 × 60 cm — a popular large size, also widely sold ready-made.
Two easy ways to frame it:
- Frame to size. Buy a frame in the exact size above, no mount needed.
- Use a mount (mat). Choose a slightly larger frame with a mount cut to your print size, for a gallery look with a border.
Tip: check the frame's artwork opening (not its outer size), and look for a real glass or acrylic front.
How it'll look on your wall
Here's how the three sizes compare against a standard three-seat sofa (about 2 m wide) and an adult, for scale:
Above a sofa or sideboard, most people choose 30 × 40 or 45 × 60 cm. For a shelf or a gallery wall of several prints, A4 works well.

What kind of adventure photo works best?
Anything with a clear subject works well, a person on a hike, a couple at a viewpoint, a group shot at a favourite destination. Landscape-only shots can work too, though photos with a recognisable person tend to produce the most personal result. If you're unsure, upload it and we'll let you know in the free digital proof.
Is this a hand-painted original?
No, and we're upfront about that. It's an artist-reimagined digital watercolour made from your photo, printed on premium paper. The free proof we send before printing is exactly how you see what you're getting, with no surprises.
Can I add a frame?
Yes. Wood frames are available in Black, White and Natural for an additional £30. They arrive ready to hang, so there's nothing to assemble on the day.
How quickly will it arrive?
We aim to deliver within a few days of proof approval. If you have a specific date in mind, Father's Day, a birthday, order as early as you can and mention it at checkout so we can prioritise accordingly.
What if I don't like the proof?
Then we change it. The proof stage is there so you can ask for tweaks to the colours, the background or the likeness, and we'll keep revising until you're happy. Nothing goes to print until you approve it.
Can I return it if I change my mind?
Because every print is made to order from your photo, we can't accept returns for a change of mind. You approve a free digital proof before we print anything, so there are no surprises. And if a print arrives damaged or not as approved, we'll put it right straight away.
